How to Connect WooCommerce to Bing Shopping
Microsoft Shopping shows your products on Bing and across the Microsoft Advertising network - often with less competition than Google. Your WooCommerce catalog can feed it, either directly or by way of Google Merchant Center.
This guide covers the ways to get your WooCommerce catalog onto Bing Shopping, what Bing Shopping needs from every product, how your WooCommerce fields map to Bing Shopping's, and the problems WooCommerce stores run into most.
Three ways to connect WooCommerce to Bing Shopping
1. An official plugin or module
Microsoft doesn't publish an official WooCommerce extension for Microsoft Merchant Center, so your choices are third-party feed plugins - or, if you already send products to Google, importing them from Google Merchant Center.
2. Export a file yourself
WooCommerce's built-in product export (Products > Export) gives you a CSV of your WooCommerce catalog, but its columns are WooCommerce's own - "Regular price", "In stock?", "Images" - not the field names and formats Bing Shopping expects. You'd have to rename and reformat it, and redo that every time something changes. If you go this way, start from our free Bing Catalog CSV Template Generator so at least the columns are right.
3. A store catalog connector
A connector reads your WooCommerce catalog through WooCommerce's REST API and builds the Bing Shopping feed for you. Because WooCommerce can send webhooks, a good connector updates in real time - a price change or a sold-out item reaches your feed within moments, not at the next export. The connector hosts the feed at a URL that Bing Shopping reads on a schedule, and one connection can usually feed several platforms at once.
What Bing Shopping needs
- A Microsoft Advertising account with a Microsoft Merchant Center store, and your domain verified through Bing Webmaster Tools or a UET tag.
- Seven fields per product:
id,title,description,link,image_link,price, andshipping(required only in Germany and Austria). - Optional extras like
brand, gtin, andproduct_category- which uses the same Google product category list. - Regular refreshes - Microsoft Merchant Center items expire after 30 days unless they're updated.
How your WooCommerce fields map to Bing Shopping
The table above shows where each Bing Shopping field comes from in your WooCommerce catalog. A few WooCommerce details need extra care:
- Variable products: each variation (Navy / M, Navy / L...) should become its own listing with its own price, stock, and image, all sharing the parent product as their
item_group_id. Put sizes and colors in attributes named Size and Color so they can be read reliably. - Brand: WooCommerce has a built-in Brands feature in recent versions. If you don't use it, your feed needs a default brand - usually your own store's name if you make the products.
- GTIN: recent WooCommerce versions include a "GTIN, UPC, EAN, or ISBN" field on the Inventory tab. Fill it in for products that have barcodes.
- Descriptions are stored as HTML in WooCommerce, so they have to be converted to plain text for the feed.
Step by step
- Get your Bing Shopping account ready - see "What Bing Shopping needs" above.
- Give read access to your store. WooCommerce has a built-in approval screen for apps, or you can create a key yourself under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API with Read permission. Read-only is all a catalog feed needs.
- Optionally add categories. Microsoft doesn't require
product_category, but adding one from the Google product category list helps your products show for the right searches. - Add the feed in Microsoft Merchant Center. In Microsoft Advertising, go to Tools > Merchant Center, select your store, and add a feed that Microsoft downloads on a schedule from your feed URL. If your products are already in Google Merchant Center, you can import them instead.
- Check the first import. Review the errors Bing Shopping reports and fix them in WooCommerce, not in the feed - your store stays the single source of truth.
Common WooCommerce to Bing Shopping problems
- Grouped and external/affiliate products. A grouped product has no single price, and an external product links to someone else's site, so neither belongs in your WooCommerce catalog feed. Simple and variable products are the ones to sync.
- Draft, private, or hidden products. Only published products with a public product page can be listed - the
linkhas to open for a shopper. - Products disappearing after a month. Items expire after 30 days, so a one-time upload quietly empties out. Use a scheduled feed.
- Links rejected. Every product link must be under your store's verified URL. See How to Import a Google Merchant Feed Into Bing for the Google import route.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect WooCommerce to Bing Shopping without a plugin?
Yes. Bing Shopping reads a product feed, so you can build one from your WooCommerce products yourself or use a connector that reads your store through its API and hosts the feed at a URL Bing Shopping fetches on a schedule - nothing to install on your site.
Is there an official WooCommerce Bing Shopping plugin?
No. Microsoft does not publish an official WooCommerce extension for Microsoft Merchant Center. Stores use third-party feed plugins, a hosted feed, or import their products from Google Merchant Center.
How do WooCommerce variable products show up on Bing Shopping?
Each variation should become its own Bing Shopping listing, with its own price, availability, image, color, and size, grouped under its parent product with a shared item_group_id so Bing Shopping knows they are versions of one product.
How often does Bing Shopping update my WooCommerce products?
It depends on both sides: with real-time webhooks, changes in your WooCommerce catalog reach the feed within moments, and Microsoft Merchant Center downloads a scheduled feed on the schedule you set. A hosted feed URL means you never re-upload anything.
Why do my products disappear from Bing Shopping?
Items in a Microsoft Merchant Center feed expire after 30 days unless they are refreshed. A feed that Microsoft downloads on a schedule keeps them active.
