Connection and feed error messages, and how to fix them

Updated

Find the message you're seeing below. Messages from Pin Data Connect appear on the Connections page; messages from the platform appear in that platform's catalog or feed diagnostics.

"Add at least 5 products to your catalog before connecting"

Platforms reject empty or near-empty feeds, so connecting needs at least 5 products. Add products or import them, then try again.

"Please set your Country (or Currency) in Settings before connecting"

Choose your country and currency in Settings. See Set your brand, country, and currency.

"An active … subscription is required"

Connecting needs an active plan or trial for that platform. Check the sidebar's Subscriptions section, and add the platform from Add Channel if it's missing. See Free trial, billing, and cancelling.

"A data source has already been created for this account"

Each connected account gets one "Pin Data Connect" data source. To create a new one, click Disconnect on the card, connect again, then click Create Data Source.

"No Facebook product catalog was found for this connection"

No catalog was chosen when you connected. Click Disconnect Facebook, connect again, and pick your catalog when Facebook asks. If you don't have one, create a catalog in Commerce Manager first.

"Enter a valid Merchant Center account id"

Enter only the number shown at the top of your Merchant Center dashboard, then click Confirm Account. The Google account you connected must have access to that Merchant Center account.

The platform says the fetch failed, unauthorized, or 401

The platform has the wrong username or password for your Data Source URL. This usually happens after the password was regenerated. Copy the username again from Connections, click Regenerate Password if you don't have the current password, and update both on the platform. See Regenerate your password.

The platform says forbidden, 403, or "This feed is no longer active"

The subscription for that platform has ended, so your Data Source URL no longer serves your catalog. Subscribe again from Pricing. The same URL works again once you're subscribed.

"Too many data source requests from this network"

Too many connection requests were made in a short time. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Products rejected or disapproved by the platform

The feed loaded, but the platform didn't accept some products. See My products aren't showing for a full checklist. Common causes are a broken image link, a product URL that isn't on your claimed or verified website, a price that doesn't match your website, or a missing required field. Open the product in Manage Product Catalog, fix it, and the platform picks it up on its next read. Our guides cover the most common Pinterest catalog errors and Facebook catalog feed errors.
