Brand, GTIN, and MPN (product identifiers)

Updated

Brand

Every product needs a brand. Pin Data Connect fills it in from your Settings. If you sell other companies' products, change it to the manufacturer's brand on those products.

GTIN (barcode number)

A GTIN is the number under a product's barcode: a UPC, EAN, or ISBN. Enter digits only. If a product you resell has one, add it: platforms match it to their product listings, which helps your products show up. GTIN is on Enhanced catalogs.

MPN

An MPN (manufacturer part number) identifies a product from its maker. If there's no GTIN, the brand plus MPN can identify it instead.

You make your own products?

Handmade, custom, print-on-demand, and art products usually have no GTIN, and that's fine. Leave GTIN and MPN blank. On Google and Bing Enhanced, set Identifier Exists to FALSE to tell them it's expected.

Don't make one up. An invented or borrowed GTIN can get products disapproved. Only enter a GTIN that really belongs to that product.
