Connecting Pinterest, Facebook, Google & Bing

Connect your catalog to Pinterest

Updated

Before you start

  • Pinterest catalogs need a Pinterest business account with your website claimed. Your product links must point to that website.
  • Set your country and currency in Settings.
  • Have at least 5 products in your catalog. Pinterest rejects data sources with an empty feed.

Connect automatically (recommended)

  1. Open Connections and find Pinterest Connection.
  2. Click Connect to Pinterest, log in to the Pinterest business account you use for your catalog, and allow access.
  3. Back on Connections, the card shows Connected as your account. Click Create Data Source.
  4. You'll see Data source "Pin Data Connect" created (ID: …). Pinterest now reads your catalog on its own schedule.

Pinterest takes a while to process a new data source, often a few hours and sometimes longer. Your products then show up under Catalogs in Pinterest.

Connect manually with your Data Source URL

  1. Get your URL, username, and password. See Your Data Source URL.
  2. In Pinterest, go to Catalogs and create a new data source.
  3. Paste the URL, choose the CSV format, and choose the same currency and country as in your Settings.
  4. Enter the username and password if Pinterest asks for login details, then save.
  5. On your Pin Data Connect dashboard, click confirm you've connected it to tick off the checklist.

After you connect

  • Pinterest re-reads your catalog about once a day. To send changes sooner, click Sync Now on the card. See Sync Now and update timing.
  • To stop, click Disconnect Pinterest. You can reconnect any time.
  • Each Pinterest account gets one data source from Pin Data Connect. To create a new one, disconnect and reconnect Pinterest.
