Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Pin Data Connect ("Pin Data Connect," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Pin Data Connect, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through pindataconnect.com and our related services (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at support@pindataconnect.com.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage - we never store or have access to your plain-text password. You may also optionally set a brand name and a currency, which pre-fill matching fields on the Add Product pages.
Product catalog information. When you use an Add Product feature, we store the product data you enter as part of a product catalog tied to your account, so it can be added to over time and connected via a private URL that acts as that product catalog's data source whenever you're ready. This includes the Pinterest product catalog (title, description, price, image link, availability, condition, product type, Google Product Category, brand, and custom label), the Facebook product catalog (title, description, availability, condition, price, link, image link, brand, and Google Product Category), and, for the Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog or Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog, a base title, description, and product URL you enter once, plus a price, image link, and title you provide for each product type you select, depending on which product catalog(s) you use. If you use the Pinterest Enhanced Product Catalog, we also store whichever optional fields you choose to fill in on top of the standard Pinterest fields: variant details (color, size, and related attributes), additional images and video links, review ratings and counts, product identifiers (GTIN, MPN), tax and shipping details, additional custom labels, and shopping ad fields (including any ad tracking link or AI-disclosure text you provide). If you use the Facebook Enhanced Product Catalog, we similarly store whichever optional fields you choose to fill in on top of the standard Facebook fields: variant details, product identifiers (GTIN, MPN), shipping details, channel visibility settings, internal/vendor labels, and whichever fields specific to your product's category (such as clothing, electronics, or jewelry) you choose to provide. The Google Product Catalog stores title, description, price, link, image link, availability, condition, product type, Google Product Category, brand, and custom label. If you use the Google Enhanced Product Catalog, we also store whichever optional fields you choose to fill in on top of the standard Google fields: variant details (color, size, and related attributes), product identifiers (GTIN, MPN), apparel attributes (gender, age group, material, pattern), additional images and video/mobile links, sale price details, shipping details, and additional custom labels. The Bing Product Catalog stores id, title, description, link, image link, price, and shipping. If you use the Bing Enhanced Product Catalog, we also store whichever optional fields you choose to fill in on top of the standard Bing fields: product identifiers (brand, GTIN, MPN), apparel attributes (age group, color, gender, size, material, pattern), variant details, destinations, installment/unit pricing details, Bing ad fields (custom labels, seller name, ad redirect/link template), sales and promotion details, and UCP-readiness fields (return policy labels, consumer message type/content).
Product catalog data source URL credentials. If you generate a data source URL for a product catalog (see Section 6), we store a per-catalog username and a SHA-256 hash of a randomly generated password, plus an opaque, randomly generated URL token that identifies the product catalog. We never store or have access to the plain-text password after it's generated - it's shown to you once, at generation or regeneration time, and never again.
Billing information. Subscriptions are billed through Paddle.com, our payment processor and merchant of record (see Section 8). We never receive or store your full card number - we only store limited billing metadata Paddle sends us, such as your subscription status, plan, renewal date, and Paddle's internal subscription and customer identifiers.
Technical information. We use a signed, HTTP-only session cookie (auth_token) to keep you logged in. We do not log or store your IP address or other request metadata.
Browser extension. If you install the Pin Data Connect browser extension, it can read the page you're currently viewing - title, meta description, price, image, and structured product data (such as SKU, GTIN, or MPN) the page itself makes available - and send whatever you choose to submit into whichever of your active product catalogs you select in the extension: the Pinterest, Facebook, Google, or Bing product catalog (Basic or Enhanced), a Pinterest + Facebook, Google + Bing, or All Platforms combined submission, a Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog, or a Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog. See Section 7 for how the extension works and what it does and doesn't do.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and authenticate your account and maintain your login session.
- To build and maintain the Pinterest, Facebook, Google, and/or Bing product catalog(s) you create through the Add Product features, including a Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog, a Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog, a Pinterest Enhanced Product Catalog, a Facebook Enhanced Product Catalog, a Google Enhanced Product Catalog, or a Bing Enhanced Product Catalog.
- To operate the product catalog data source URL feature, including verifying credentials when a product catalog's URL is read by a platform and checking that the product catalog's subscription is still active.
- To process subscription billing, renewals, and cancellations through Paddle.
- To send transactional emails (e.g. account welcome, subscription confirmations, password resets) via our email delivery provider.
- To send marketing emails about new features, promotions, and product updates (see Section 4).
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns on our public marketing pages and account sign-up/login pages, using Google Analytics (see Section 9).
- To offer live chat support sitewide, including inside the logged-in product catalog application, using Tawk.to (see Section 9).
We do not use your product catalog data for advertising. Google Analytics, described in Section 9, only runs on our public marketing pages and account pages (sign-up, login, password reset) - it is never loaded on the logged-in product catalog application itself, so it does not see your product catalog data, account credentials, or billing information. Tawk.to live chat is different - it's available everywhere, including inside the logged-in application, so that you can reach support from wherever you're working. It only sees what you choose to type into a chat conversation; it does not automatically read your product catalog data, account credentials, or billing information.
4. Email Communications
We send two categories of email: transactional emails necessary to operate the Service - such as a welcome email when you register, subscription confirmation emails when you purchase or renew a plan, password reset emails, and other account or service notices - and marketing emails about new features, promotions, and product updates. Our Terms of Service describe the consent terms governing these emails.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time without affecting your account or subscription. Transactional emails continue for as long as you maintain an account, since they're necessary to operate the Service rather than promotional.
5. Your Product Catalog Data
The Add Product pages build platform-ready product catalogs - one for Pinterest, one for Facebook, one for a Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog, one for a Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog, one for a Pinterest Enhanced Product Catalog, one for a Facebook Enhanced Product Catalog, one for a Google Product Catalog, one for a Google Enhanced Product Catalog, one for a Bing Product Catalog, and one for a Bing Enhanced Product Catalog. Each product you submit through a given page is added to that product catalog, which is stored in our database, tied to your account, so it can be added to over time and connected via a private data source URL (Section 6). Each product catalog is stored separately: the Pinterest product catalog includes title, description, price, image link, availability, condition, product type, Google Product Category, brand, and custom label; the Facebook product catalog includes id, title, description, availability, condition, price, link, image link, brand, and Google Product Category; the Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog and the Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog include the same fields as the Pinterest product catalog, sourced from a base title, description, and product URL you enter once plus a price, image link, and title you provide for each product type you select; the Pinterest Enhanced Product Catalog includes the same fields as the Pinterest product catalog plus whichever optional fields described in Section 2 you choose to fill in; the Facebook Enhanced Product Catalog includes the same fields as the Facebook product catalog plus whichever optional and category-specific fields described in Section 2 you choose to fill in; the Google Product Catalog includes the same fields as the Pinterest product catalog (title, description, price, link, image link, availability, condition, product type, Google Product Category, brand, custom label); the Google Enhanced Product Catalog includes the same fields as the Google Product Catalog plus whichever optional fields described in Section 2 you choose to fill in; the Bing Product Catalog includes id, title, description, link, image link, price, and shipping; the Bing Enhanced Product Catalog includes the same fields as the Bing Product Catalog plus whichever optional fields described in Section 2 you choose to fill in. You may also Import From File (CSV, XML, TXT, TSV, JSON, or Google Sheets) to continue adding to a product catalog, or start a new blank one at any time, independently for each product catalog.
A product catalog's data is not sent to Pinterest, Facebook, Google, Bing, Pixels Pro/Fine Art America, Dashery, or any other third party unless you choose to set up a data source URL for it (Section 6) - that's a feature you opt into, not something that happens automatically or by default. Your product catalog data is deleted if you delete your account.
Pin Data Connect does not offer a direct Pinterest, Facebook, Google, Bing, Pixels Pro/Fine Art America, or Dashery account connection (e.g. OAuth sign-in to those platforms) - a product catalog data source URL is a simpler mechanism, a private link those platforms can read from on a schedule, not an account-level integration. If a true account connection is added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe what account data is read, written, and stored before such a feature becomes available to you.
6. Your Product Catalog Data Source URLs & Third-Party Reads
If you generate a data source URL for a product catalog (from your Settings page), that product catalog becomes reachable at a private URL protected by a username and password you control. You may choose to enter that URL and its credentials into Pinterest Catalogs, Facebook Commerce Manager, Google Merchant Center, Bing/Microsoft Merchant Center, or another platform's scheduled settings, so it can read your current product data automatically on the schedule you configure there. This is a feature you opt into and control - we don't send your product catalog's data source URL or credentials to any platform ourselves, and a product catalog with no generated URL is never reachable this way.
Whoever holds a product catalog's data source URL and password can read that product catalog's current product data, so keep them confidential the same way you would a password. You can revoke access at any time by regenerating the product catalog's password from Settings, which immediately invalidates the previous one - you'll need to update it on the receiving platform before it can read your product catalog again. If your subscription for a product catalog lapses, its data source URL stops returning data until you resubscribe, even if it's still configured on the receiving platform.
7. Browser Extension
The Pin Data Connect browser extension is optional - installing it is a separate, deliberate step from creating an account. It only reads a page's content when you click its icon; it does not run in the background, does not monitor your browsing, and does not read any page unless you actively open it there. When you do, it looks for a page's title, meta description, price, main image, and any structured product data the page publishes (such as a SKU, GTIN, or MPN) to pre-fill a form. Nothing is sent anywhere at that point - it's only sent to your account once you review the pre-filled details and click "Add to Catalog." You choose which of your active product catalogs a given submission goes into - the Pinterest, Facebook, Google, or Bing product catalog (Basic or Enhanced), a Pinterest + Facebook, Google + Bing, or All Platforms combined submission, a Pixels Pro/Fine Art America to Pinterest Product Catalog, or a Dashery to Pinterest Product Catalog - and the extension only offers the ones your account currently has an active subscription for. A combined submission sends the same product to more than one underlying product catalog at once (e.g. an All Platforms submission writes to your Pinterest, Facebook, Google, and Bing product catalogs together) - each one succeeds or fails independently, the same as using the combined Add Product page on the website.
The extension authenticates as you using the same signed session cookie described in Section 2, so it only works if you're already logged in to Pin Data Connect in that browser - there is no separate extension-specific login or API key. Data you submit through the extension is stored as part of whichever product catalog(s) you selected, exactly as described in Sections 2 and 5, and is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose beyond building those product catalogs. Uninstalling the extension stops it from reading any further pages; it does not delete product catalog entries you already added through it, which you can edit or remove from Manage Feed like any other product.
8. Payment Processing & Paddle
Paddle.com acts as the merchant of record for all purchases made through Pin Data Connect. This means your purchase transaction (including your payment card details, billing address, and invoicing) is handled directly by Paddle under Paddle's own Privacy Policy and Buyer Terms, not by us. We only receive the limited subscription metadata described in Section 2 back from Paddle.
9. Cookies, Analytics & Live Chat
Strictly necessary. We use a small number of strictly necessary, HTTP-only cookies, primarily auth_token to keep you signed in. These cannot be read by browser scripts and are never used for tracking or advertising.
Analytics. On our public marketing pages and account sign-up/login pages (not on the logged-in product catalog application itself), we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and how visitors move from our marketing pages through sign-up. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to distinguish visitors and sessions. It does not receive your product catalog data, password, or billing information. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data, and Google's opt-out browser add-on if you'd like to opt out of Google Analytics tracking across sites that use it.
Live chat. We use Tawk.to to provide the live chat widget available across the entire site, including inside the logged-in product catalog application, so you can reach support from anywhere. Tawk.to sets its own cookies to keep a chat conversation connected and to recognize you if you return, and processes whatever you type into a chat window along with general technical information (such as your browser and approximate location) to operate the widget. We don't ask Tawk.to to read your product catalog data, account credentials, or billing information, and it doesn't do so automatically - only what you or our support team type in a conversation is involved. See Tawk.to's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.
Both Google Analytics and Tawk.to are opt-in - the first time you visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline before either loads, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link that appears after you decide.
10. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service:
- Paddle.com - to process subscription payments as merchant of record.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics) - to understand aggregate traffic and usage of our public marketing and account pages, as described in Section 9.
- Tawk.to - to provide the live chat support widget available across the site, as described in Section 9.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Pin Data Connect or our users.
Separately, if you generate a product catalog data source URL and provide its credentials to Pinterest, Facebook, or another platform (Section 6), that platform will access your product catalog data directly when it reads from that URL. That's sharing you initiate and control by choosing to set it up - it isn't us sharing data with a service provider on your behalf, and we don't send your product catalog data source URLs or credentials to any platform ourselves.
11. Data Security
We employ industry-standard safeguards, including salted bcrypt password hashing for your account login, SHA-256 hashing for product catalog data source URL passwords, HMAC-signed and replay-protected verification of payment webhooks, HTTPS in transit, and HTTP-only/SameSite session cookies. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using these measures.
12. Data Retention
We retain account and product catalog data for as long as your account remains active. If you request account deletion (Section 13), we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited billing records for tax, accounting, or legal compliance purposes.
13. Your Rights & Choices
You may access or correct your account information at any time by contacting us. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, or to request a copy of the data we hold about you, email support@pindataconnect.com from your account email address. We will respond within 30 days.
14. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. International Users
The Service is operated in the United States, and any information you provide is processed and stored in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.
16. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice.
17. Contact Us
